BOARD SERVICE
Interested in joining the board of a trend setting, culturally relevant and community-centered dance organization? Our Board of Directors is strategically working to increase the current board membership to support the strategic growth of the organization.
We are currently seeking candidates with the following traits and skill sets:
Senior-level corporate management experience.
Ability to serve as an active advocate and ambassador for Red Clay Dance Company by being mission focused, visionary, motivating and inspiring.
Dependable, honest, engaged and effective communicator
Background in any of the following areas: HR, Finance, Fundraising and Business Law
Possess the ability to leverage networks, connections to develop actions that would support Red Clay Dance Company’s mission
Support the identification of personal connections that would propel the Red Clay Dance Company’s reputation and fundraising efforts.
Bring a culture of diversity and inclusion experience and mindset to the organization.
Board Member Requirements:
Serve a 2-year board term. Renewable for up to three terms.
Attend and actively participate in all required quarterly board meetings.
Support the organization with an annual $1500 personal cash gift and a minimum $500 get.
Support the organization's annual Paint the Town Red Fundraiser with a set give/get amount set by the board each year.
Serve on at least one Board Circle to drive the growth of the organization.
Support the annual revenue goals of company concerts and additional fundraising events.
Understand and support the company’s finances, budget, and financial/resource needs.
Participate in the board evaluation process including individual & group self-assessments and all other surveys and requests for information.
Serve as an ambassador for Red Clay Dance Company by communicating and promoting the company’s mission and programs to the community.
Participate in the fundraising of the organization with support from your organization, or through other relationships you may have.
Provide assistance with membership recruitment and retention efforts as requested by the Board Development Circle.

VOLUNTEER
Red Clay Dance Company has many exciting volunteer opportunites for village members who share our mission to awaken "glocal” Artivism through creating, performing and teaching dances of the African Diaspora
Our volunteers must complete our application form and most volunteer opportunites also require training on our policies and procedures. Opportunities that support our youth programming may also require background checks.
