Our School & Community Partnerships program partners with schools, community organizations, and corporations to make this a reality. We are committed to developing the next generation of Movement Artivists and Arts Aficionados prepared to positively impact our field.

SCHOOL & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

  • Red Clay Dance Company provides qualified Teaching Artivists to deliver a short-term dance education program. During the Residency participants are introduced to dance artivism, creative practice, and technique through the lineage and legacy of African Diaspora dance. Participants will gain moderate to advance levels of dance literacy, and exposure to diverse dance genres, professional companies, and female artivists of the African Diaspora.

    A short-term residency is a between 12 - 36 hours of instruction with the same group of students to ensure that adequate time is given to learn and practice the movement and concepts consistently. An informal showing of students’ progress is available with this program oQering.

  • Red Clay Dance Company provides qualified Teaching Artivists to deliver a long-term dance education program. During the Residency participants are introduced to dance artivism, creative practice, and technique through the lineage and legacy of Dance Forms of the African Diaspora. Participants will gain moderate to advance levels of dance literacy, and exposure to diverse dance genres, professional companies, and female artivists of the African Diaspora.

    A long-term residency is more than 36 hours of instruction with the same group of students to ensure that adequate time is given to learn and practice the movement and concepts consistently. An end-of-year performance is available with this program offering.

  • A Red Clay Dance Company Teaching Artivist will facilitate a performance, technique, or creative process workshop designed to activate your student's excellence in Artivism. Over the course of 90-minutes they will engage with dance forms of the African Diaspora and performance and creative process activities. These workshops amplify creative voices of the African Diaspora past and present to activate the powerful legacy of storytelling through movement.

    Workshops can be booked as a one-time experience or a series.

  • Dance Pamoja!

    Guided by our unique “Embodied Community Engagement Praxis”, a Dance Pamoja workshop invites your employees to learn creative engagement practices that can be applied in the workplace. Through the lens of “Pamoja,” Swahili for “Together”, each workshop oQers holistic practices rooted in styles of the African Diaspora promoting unity and collaboration. In 90 minutes, participants will engage in warm up exercises, community building through dialogue and movement. To wrap up the work participants are lead through a cool down and reflection activity.
