Dance4Peace - An Evening of Bliss

The Dance 4 Peace Youth Explosion was an evening of lighthearted bliss! The date was Saturday, May 11th, and Gary Comer Youth Center was the venue.

Attendees arrived at the Gary Comer Youth Center, that sunny Saturday, at 7:00 p.m. Patiently waiting, guests milled the halls and took seats in the expansive auditorium. They perused their Souvenir Adbooks.

Meanwhile, backstage was abuzz.  The excitement animated Vershawn Sanders-Ward, Artistic Director of Red Clay Dance company; her support staff moved to places, as the dancers pepped themselves for the show.

The company bid adieu to Timothy Lydon, who has been filming Red Clay Dance for the past year as part of the documentary Art: Creativity in Four Seasons. (Be the first to comment on our page--http://vimeo.com/60957303)

Sanders-Ward honored her mother on the Mother's Day Event and presented flowers to teaching artist and Red Clay Dance C.E.E.P. Program Manager, Eboné Lewis.

Don't just take my word for it.  Take it from dancer and journalist Katherine Jinyi Li in her Chicago Weekly article, "Dance, Chance and Possibility"http://chicagoweekly.net/2013/05/16/dance-chance-and-possibility/

Red Clay Dance thanks all of our partners in organizing the Dance 4 Peace Youth Explosion, everyone who bought ads, all of our family and friends who attended-- plus $1.00 on top for the hundred who bought souvenir adbooks!

-- And, of course, our wonderful dancers.
