AUGUST 29, 2024: RED CLAY DANCE’S “TURNING POINTS” SHOWCASES COMPANY, GUEST CHOREOGRAPHERS

(Chicago, IL) –Red Clay Dance Company launches its 16th season with Turning Points, a program featuring the work of three choreographers. Performances take place October 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, 915 East 60th Street, in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood.

Dedicated to enriching the community through dance and artistic expression, Red Clay Dance Company invites audiences to join them for a season filled with creativity, innovation, and celebration. 

JANUARY 23, 2024: RED CLAY DANCE COMPANY ANNOUNCES THE RETURN OF ITS LA FEMME DANCE FESTIVAL

(Chicago, IL) – Continuing its 15th Season, Red Clay Dance Company is thrilled to announce the return of its La Femme Dance Festival, March 14-16, 2024, featuring a special opening reception and dance masterclass with legendary three-time Emmy-nominated hip-hop and pop music choreographer Fatima Robinson—whose recent projects include choreography for the critically acclaimed Warner Bros. musical The Color Purple directed by Blitz Bazawule, Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour and the 2022 Super Bowl. Robinson was nominated for Emmy Awards for choreographing the Beyoncé performance "Be Alive" at the 2022 Oscars, and for her role as a producer for both the 2021 and 2022 Grammy Awards.

JUNE 13, 2023: RED CLAY DANCE COMPANY ANNOUNCES ITS 15TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON

(Chicago, IL) – Named in 2021 as one of “Chicago’s Cultural Treasures,” Red Clay Dance Company is launching its 15th Anniversary Season themed “15FORWARD.” To Celebrate this anniversary milestone, the company is presenting a diverse offering of performances and events to begin July 2023 and continue through June 2024.

The 15th Anniversary season will highlight and pay tribute to Red Clay Dance Company’s work and legacy of thought-provoking, uplifting, challenging and innovative afro-contemporary socially-conscious dance, instruction and programming. This curated season was designed to build on the Company’s legacy of amplifying the voices of the African Diaspora.

APRIL 1, 2023: ANNOUNCING THE WORLD PREMIERE OF REST.RISE.MOVE.NOURISH.HEAL.

(Chicago, IL) – Red Clay Dance Company will close out its 14th Season with the world premiere of its newest work, “Rest.Rise.Move.Nourish.Heal.,” which audiences will have the opportunity to experience on June 8-10, 2023.  Rest. Rise.Move.Nourish.Heal. is a site-responsive dance ritual created by Founder and Artistic Director Vershawn Sanders-Ward and Company in collaboration with composer avery r. young, filmmaker Jovan Landry, Kelley KFLEYE Moseley and Evelyn Danner.
