Red Clay Dance is elated to welcome Ann Carter to our Board of Directors!

Ann Carter

Ann’s corporate career has focused on Procurement and Supply Chain.  Ann has worked for Fortune 500 companies including British Petroleum, Ford Motor Company and most recently Baxter Healthcare.  At Baxter, Ann was the Chief Procurement Officer where she lead a global team of over 350 professionals.  She is a compassionate leader who has the confidence to inspire, but also the humility to be respectful and encouraging.  Ann’s expertise include strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, supply chain risk mitigation, cost savings, and negotiations.  Ann is also a thought leader in the area of supplier and workplace diversity and inclusion.  Ann holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry from UCLA.  Ann is married to Nate Carter and they have two adult daughters Summer and Holly.

Ann’s passion for dance began in high school where she was a member of the Antelope Valley High School competitive dance team.  Ann continued to pursue her passion for dance in college as a member for the cheerleading squad at Antelope Valley College and on the UCLA Dance Team.  Ann also danced professionally for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1983-1986.

Ann was introduced to the Red Clay Dance Company and it’s leader Vershawn Sanders-Ward through the Harvard Business School Club of Chicago.  Ann was drawn to RCDC’s core values and mission of ARTIVISM (activisim combined with dance art).  Ann brings 30+ years experience working in corporate America.  In addition to procurement and supply chain, Ann’s skills include organizational development, financial and operational management.  To that end, Ann has developed and implemented multi-year strategic plans and will support RCDC to reach the next rung of growth and stability.  Ann has a strong background in coaching and mentoring and will bring energy, passion and can-do spirit to the RCDC Board.
