PLAN YOUR VISIT & COVID-19 POLICIES

Red Clay Dance Company has developed thorough operations and safety plans for reopening amid the COVID-19 pandemic. These plans are forward-thinking and flexible, incorporating all the knowledge and resources made available to us by the State of Illinois, City of Chicago, the CDC, WHO, and the guidance of experts in the fields of medicine, operations, HVAC, and sanitation. 

STATUS AS OF MARCH 1, 2022 

Red Clay Dance Company will no longer require proof of full vaccination for visitors to our center, and masks/face coverings are optional.

All other existing Red Clay Dance Company safety measures remain in place.

Before your visit, please review the COVID-19 Safety Agreement and other important information below. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable, welcome, and safe. Contact us with any questions or concerns.

RENTALS: Please visit Red Clay Dance Company’s Rentals page for an updated list of all studio capacities.

CLASSES: In-person classes have resumed with a maximum capacity of students per studio sq. footage. Please visit our class schedule for details.

SAFETY

  • All Red Clay Dance Company staff members will adhere to the agreements below, and we ask that all visitors to the facility do the same:

    o TRACK YOUR SYMPTOMS & EXPOSURE: Do not visit Red Clay Dance Company if you have a fever or do not feel well.

    o SIGN IN: All visitors must sign in to gain entry to the Center.

    o KEEP YOUR DISTANCE: Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet between yourself and others where possible.

    o WASH YOUR HANDS: Wash your hands frequently with soap or use hand sanitizer. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

    o STOP THE SPREAD: Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, an elbow, or your shoulder.

    o BE KIND: We are all in this together. Thank you for adhering to these agreements and being respectful of Red Clay Dance Company staff and other visitors to our home.

  • Red Clay Dance Company is taking numerous precautions to keep you safe, including:

    o Masks are optional.

    o Requiring visitors to sign-in to gain entry.

    o Encouraging visitors to wash their hands with hot water and soap for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer regularly and encouraging social distancing where possible.

    o Cleaning and disinfecting spaces in accordance with CDC guidelines.

    o Offering non-essential staff the option to continue working remotely.

    o Instituting and enforcing the above Community Agreements.

    o Providing informational signage with safety protocols.

    o Communicating regularly about updates to policies and procedures via our website, emails, and signage.

    o Training staff in new policies and health and safety procedures.

    o Implementing flexible sick leave policies.

    o Interventions have been made to increase fresh air flow and improve air quality.

  • Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is defined as illness caused by a novel coronavirus now called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2; formerly called 2019nCoV), which was first identified amid an outbreak of respiratory illness cases in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. It was initially reported to the WHO on December 31, 2019. On January 30, 2020, the WHO declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global health emergency. On March 11, 2020, the WHO declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. There are vaccines for COVID-19 which are in the process of being distributed.

  • General Safety Measures:

    • Masks are available upon request.

    • Everyone is encouraged to wash their hands with hot water and soap regularly for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer.

    • Hand sanitizer and hand washing stations are readily available.

    • Physical distancing inside the studios though it is suggested whenever possible.

    • Spaces are cleaned and disinfected as per CDC guidelines.

    • Interventions have been made to increase fresh air flow and improve air quality.

    • Staff will continue to work on a hybrid model.

    • Cleaning and disinfecting communal areas and workspaces.

    Management and Communications Measures:

    • Red Clay Dance Company will regularly communicate information and updates via the website, emails, and signage.

    • Red Clay Dance Company has trained staff on new policies and health and safety procedures.

    • Red Clay Dance Company has implemented flexible sick leave policies.

    • Red Clay Dance Company have adjusted class and rental times to limit the number of people during the check-in process.

    • Red Clay Dance Company has posted signage explaining policies and procedures.

  • Effective Tuesday, March 1, 2022, COVID-19 vaccines are not required for entry to our Center. However, Red Clay Dance Company reserves the right to change its verification process at any time, as new guidance, vaccine mandates, and/or staff capacity warrant.

    Red Clay Dance Company further encourages individuals to receive vaccine and booster shots as recommended by health authorities.

    All other existing Red Clay Dance Company safety measures remain in place.

  • Lingering is not encouraged at Red Clay Dance Company’s facility. Also, eating and drinking are not permitted in the common areas.

    • Emails and website engagement will continuously remind visitors of health rules and expectations and will be reiterated at regular intervals prior to onsite activity.

    • Social media will offer consistent information and updates around new information.

    At our Center:

    • Your Red Clay Dance Company contact, in addition to onsite staff, can reference health and safety rules, and answer questions around policies and procedures.

    • You are required to follow all posted signage rules and directional signage.

    • Please follow all instructions given by on-site Red Clay Dance Staff.

    • Please be respectful of on-site staff.

  • • The visitor must notify their Red Clay Dance Company point of contact and must stay home if they have symptoms of COVID-19 or have a fever of over 100.4 degrees.

    • The Red Clay Dance Company point of contact should notify Red Clay Dance Company’s Occupancy Emergency Plan (OEP) designated contacts.

    • If a visitor exhibits symptoms of COVID-19 upon arrival, or becomes sick during their time onsite, they must be isolated and sent home.

    • Visitors will be encouraged to get tested for COVID-19, self-isolate, and follow CDC recommendations.

  • • If you have been boosted or completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 6 months or completed the primary series of J&J vaccine within the last 2 months:

    o Wear a mask around others for 10 days.

    o Test on day 5, if possible.

    Self-tests are one of several options for testing for the virus that causes COVID-19 and may be more convenient than laboratory-based tests and point of-care tests. Ask your healthcare provider or your local health department if you need help interpreting your test results.

  • • After being notified, Red Clay Dance Company’s Occupant Emergency Plan (OEP) designated contacts will determine what areas of the venue were visited or used by the infected individual and whether they were within six feet of others.

    • If you were exposed and are asymptomatic:

    o Wear a mask indoors in public following exposure or until a negative test result.

    o Get tested after close contact with someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19.

    • If you were exposed and are symptomatic:

    o Reference the CDC website for the most up to date guidance.

    Tracing and Tracking Next Steps: In the event of an individual testing positive, and to the extent that we are made aware, Red Clay Dance Company will immediately notify all individuals in the surrounding areas or who may have been in contact with the infected individual, without disclosing the ID of the infected individual.

    • Cleaning and Disinfection Next Steps: Red Clay Dance Company will provide for the cleaning and disinfection of exposed areas in the event an individual is confirmed to have a positive case of COVID-19 as per CDC guidelines on “Cleaning and Disinfecting Your Facility” if someone is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19.

  • Testing is not required for visitors and renters, though you and any members of your group should stay home and get tested if you do not feel well or are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms.
