With the investments of time, talent and treasure from our partners, Red Clay Dance Company awakens “glocal” change through creating, performing, and teaching dances of the African Diaspora. We transform cultural and socio-economic inequities in our local and global community, and share stories we know to be true about who we are as a people. 

Red Clay Dance Company is Chicago’s premier Afro-contemporary dance company and a thriving, socially conscious, positive force for change that houses the renowned professional touring company, as well as a world-class dance academy, a pre-professional teen ensemble and a Community Engagement, Education and Partnership (CEEP) program that offers culturally rich dance education and artivism training to schools and community spaces.

Through this work, we empower youth and adults of the Black/African-American community through the creation of courageous spaces to tell our stories and lift our voices. Our impact amplifies voices of the African Diaspora, seeks remuneration equity for artists, supports Black women and creates accessible excellence.
